We all know families have busy schedules but figuring out how to set time aside for our family should be most important.

With parents facing daily adult challenges along with their careers as professionals and children having endless after school/weekend activities, it’s hard to make the extra time. Studies are showing that families are finding it tougher to find “family time”. We as parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents need to make it a goal to create “family time”. Our goal is to make “family time” easy, stress-free, enjoyable and beneficial for everyone!

There are a lot of simple ways to get your family playing together. Our favorite is games. Board games have a lot of benefits.

Board Games Can Help:
  • Increase attention
  • Listening and concentration skills
  • Enhance vocabulary
  • Encourage higher level thinking skills
  • Teaches great sportsmanship
  • A great tool for family communication
Other Fun Things To Do as a Family:
  • Explore nature, play outside! Pick up an outdoor toy or game to play together.
  • Explore science! Do a science experiment as a family.
  • Travel to learn new things together. Explore museums, zoos, historical monuments, etc.
  • Go to a new restaurant. Try something your family has never had before!
  • Host family and friends. Help other families make time to get together. Show your children that your family is the family that gets people together.

At the end of the day, all of our families should have the same mission; sticking together. Bonding, communicating, laughing; this is what family is all about. These are the things that happen when you play. So remember, a family that plays together stays together.

Wonderfully presented! I try to encourage family tine with the families with whom I work. I especially recommend table games as every family can set aside some time to play a game together.
